Botox & Xeomin
Botox and Xeomin are purified proteins, which relax the muscles that cause movement. This muscle movement causes manipulation of collagen to be moved repeatedly from a certain area and leads to lines (wrinkles) forming. These treatments are simple and performed by injection. The average amount of muscle weakening needed for treatment is 20 units per area. The most common areas treated are the glabella (frown), peri-orbital (eyes), frontalis (forehead) and perioral, (around the mouth). By forcing the muscle to relax in a certain area, the wrinkling appearance decreases significantly. Repeated use can continue to decrease fine lines and provide a maintained appearance.
